Citizens Bank selects new Philadelphia team of Ballpark Bankers

PHILADELPHIA (March 29, 2011) -  Citizens Bank announced today the names of the 60 colleagues who have been selected for the 2011 Citizens Bank Ballpark Banker team. Ballpark Bankers are Citizens Bank colleagues who work as customer service ambassadors during all Philadelphia Phillies home games.

Launched in 2004 when Citizens Bank Park opened, the Citizens Bank Ballpark Banker program is the only one of its kind in professional sports. The Ballpark Bankers are dedicated to spreading goodwill to fans attending Phillies home games at Citizens Bank Park. Dressed in Citizens Bank-branded apparel, Ballpark Bankers roam the park, helping fans find their seats, providing directions and offering courtesy golf cart rides to fans before the game from the parking lot to the Left Field, First Base and Right Field gates.

“Ballpark Bankers are a way Citizens Bank demonstrates its tradition of service and good citizenship at Citizens Bank Park,” said Daniel K. Fitzpatrick, Citizens Bank President and CEO for Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. “Our Ballpark Bankers make visiting the world-class ballpark even more fan-friendly and fun whether it is offering a golf cart ride for families from the parking lot, handing out free lollipops to children or encouraging fans to cheer for the Phillies.”

In addition to performing random acts of kindness throughout Citizens Bank Park, the Ballpark Bankers can also be found in Ashburn Alley, where they help engage fans participating in the Citizens Bank Games of Baseball. The Games of Baseball are comprised of three interactive games that are free and available to fans of all ages during Phillies home games, courtesy of Citizens Bank. Over the last seven seasons, it is estimated that more than 600,000 fans have played the games.

Ballpark Bankers can also be seen distributing prize packs to seven lucky fans during the seventh inning of each home game.

Competition for selection to the Ballpark Banker team is intense and involves an application, interview and manager approval. Each Ballpark Banker works about once a month at home games throughout the season as part of his or her regular work schedules.

In addition to their role within Citizens Bank Park, Ballpark Bankers also volunteer in   community outreach efforts, such as the bank's involvement with the Phillies Jr. RBI League, which reaches more than 7,000 inner-city youths.
