Citizens Bank in Philadelphia lends bank employee for a full-time sabbatical at Seabrook House, a substance-abuse treatment facility

Wilmington resident will provide counseling services and conduct life skills classes

PHILADELPHIA    (February 5, 2010) -  Citizens Bank announced today that Kelly Bradshaw-Moran, a vice president in its Global Transaction Services U.S. Solutions division, is the latest winner of the Citizens Financial Group’s Community Service Sabbatical program. Bradshaw-Moran is now working full time at Seabrook House, a Seabrook, N.J.-based accredited inpatient drug rehabilitation and detoxification treatment center.

"Citizens Bank is committed to being involved in the community, both on high-profile projects as well as the grassroots level, with opportunities such as Citizens' Community Service Sabbatical, one of our signature programs," said Daniel K. Fitzpatrick, Citizens Bank President and CEO for Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. "We were pleased to award this sabbatical to Kelly because of the passion, knowledge and skills she will bring to the women with whom she works at Seabrook House, a worthy program with a long history of success."

Under Citizens Bank's Community Service Sabbatical program, Bradshaw-Moran began work at Seabrook House on January 4 and will continue a full-time schedule with the agency through March 31, 2010. While she is on loan to the agency for three months, she continues to be paid by Citizens Bank. During her sabbatical, she is providing addiction counseling services for women enrolled in an inpatient treatment program and conducting life skills classes for clients. The goal is to help clients return to a home and a job.

"Single-parent women with abuse problems are the most under-served segment of the addicted population," Bradshaw-Moran said. "I believe that life is so precious, and to live it in a state of turmoil is truly a shame. To assist someone in reclaiming her life would be the utmost in reward for me. I am very grateful that my Citizens Bank colleagues and customers have given me the encouragement and support that has made it possible to step away from my regular job for three months."

Bradshaw-Moran, who has worked at Citizens Bank for 20 years, lives in Wilmington, Del. She has a history of volunteer work including more than 15 years at CHILD, Inc. providing domestic violence counseling and volunteering at Meals on Wheels.

"We're thankful for the support Citizens Bank is providing, especially in this difficult economic climate," said William Heran, PhD, Clinical Director of Seabrook House. "Every additional hand we can muster is a great help. Kelly is doing a terrific job for us and has a tremendous rapport and understanding of our clients."

The Citizens Financial Group Community Service Sabbatical program is open to all full-time Citizens employees who have three or more years of service at Citizens. Each year a three-month sabbatical is offered, on a competitive basis, to employees in the greater Philadelphia area. The selected employee works a standard full-time schedule at a community service agency and is supervised by agency personnel. Upon returning to Citizens, the sabbatical recipient is asked to share his/her experiences with their bank colleagues. Employees selected for the program are guaranteed their same salary and level of responsibility upon completion of the sabbatical. More than 85 colleagues have taken sabbatical assignments through the program since it began in 1994.
