Citizens Announces Leadership Transition in New Hampshire and Vermont, Names Marc Lubelczyk Market President
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Citizens today named veteran banker Marc Lubelczyk as its New Hampshire and Vermont president, succeeding Joseph Carelli, who will retire from the bank effective May 2.
A New Hampshire native, Lubelczyk began his career at Citizens in 1993 after graduating from the University of New Hampshire. Over the last 32 years, he has held roles of increasing responsibility within corporate banking, establishing a strong track record as a trusted advisor to businesses of all sizes across New England.
As New Hampshire and Vermont president, Lubelczyk will champion the bank’s commitment to helping local customers, businesses and communities reach their potential and achieve lasting success. Lubelczyk will also continue to oversee a team of portfolio managers and credit analysts, providing strategic advice to the bank’s middle market and corporate clients.
“Like Citizens, Marc has deep roots in New Hampshire and Vermont, and I am excited to have a banker of his caliber guiding our team here,” said Steve Woods, head of corporate banking at Citizens. “I’d also like to thank Joe Carelli for his outstanding leadership and steadfast commitment to our customers and clients in the region during his tenure as market president.”
A 44-year veteran of the banking industry, Carelli retires after more than 30 years at Citizens. He has served as New Hampshire and Vermont president since 2011, helping local companies finance growth and working with community leaders to support workforce development, provide financial empowerment and create positive change across the region.
Lubelczyk, who has worked with Carelli throughout his entire career, will carry forward these commitments as an active member of the community. A resident of Merrimack, NH, he is a member of the board of trustees at Waypoint, an organization that provides essential human services to people of all ages across New Hampshire.
Lubelczyk earned his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.
