Citizens Becomes the Name-In-Title Partner for Citizens Live at the Wylie: New Music Venue in Pittsburgh’s Lower Hill District

Pittsburgh, PA (March 13, 2025) – Citizens reaffirmed its commitment to making Pittsburgh a thriving hub of culture and innovation today by announcing its role as the first-ever name-in-title partner for the city’s newest music and cultural venue. Opening in 2026, Citizens Live at the Wylie will honor Pittsburgh’s rich musical heritage while delivering a cutting-edge live entertainment experience. This 4,000-capacity venue will serve as a dynamic gathering place for fans, fostering unforgettable moments while contributing to the economic growth of the Lower Hill District and the Greater Pittsburgh region.
“Today marks an exciting chapter for Pittsburgh as we break ground on the new Citizens Live at the Wiley music venue that will redefine our city as a premier destination for arts and culture,” said Mark Rendulic, Citizens Pittsburgh Market President. “Through our partnership with Live Nation we are thrilled to create a space that will attract world-class talent and continue to invest in Pittsburgh’s economic future by driving tourism, supporting local businesses, and contributing to the vibrancy of our community.”
Since launching Citizens Live in 2018, Citizens has partnered with Live Nation New England and Crossroads Presents to support some of the most iconic and beloved music and live performing arts venues across Boston. Citizens Live provides unique benefits for Citizens debit and credit cardholders including Skip-the-Line Entry and exclusive access to presale tickets. The groundbreaking of Citizens Live at the Wylie extends this commitment to Pittsburgh, investing in the Hill District’s rich heritage and future to further position the city as an innovation and cultural hub.
"Citizens has a proven record of uplifting communities through partnerships with iconic music venues, making them an ideal partner for Pittsburgh," said Rob Scolaro, Live Nation’s Senior Vice President and Head of Venue Sales. "With Citizens Live at the Wylie, we’re creating a space that celebrates Pittsburgh’s unique spirit, weaving a new arts and culture destination into the fabric of the community and building something that will inspire and connect people for generations to come.”
The venue is officially under construction following a groundbreaking ceremony. Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey, Pennsylvania Lt. Governor Austin Davis and Fenway Sports Group partner and Penguins Alternate Governor Teddy Werner joined Bruce Van Saun, Chairman and CEO at Citizens and leaders at Live Nation to begin a new chapter in Pittsburgh’s cultural landscape. With a design inspired by the music era of the 1920s through 1950s, when the Hill District was known as the “Harlem of Pittsburgh,” this venue honors its history as a center for hospitality and nightlife while bringing world-class musicians to the heart of the city.

The groundbreaking of the Citizens Live at the Wiley is the latest testament of the bank’s commitment to fostering strong communities and supporting Pittsburgh’s vibrant arts and culture scene. From iconic institutions to neighborhood theaters, Citizens’ support of cultural organizations reflects its belief in the power of the arts to drive regional economic vitality, foster community pride, and make Pittsburgh a destination for creativity and innovation. Since 2022, Citizens has supported Pittsburgh arts organizations including sponsorship of the Andy Warhol Museum’s Warhol Academy and Sound Series, City of Pittsburgh Summer Concert Series, August Wilson Center’s Community Days, and the Kelly Strayhorn Theater.
