Citizens Bank’s Foreign FiX Online Newsletter Wins Five Awards Across Three Business Communications Competitions

Financial Communications Society, Internet Advertising Competition, American Business Awards (Stevie) recognize online newsletter

PROVIDENCE, RI — Citizens Bank’s online newsletter Foreign FiX, which focuses on the $5 trillion-a-day foreign exchange (FX) market, has recently won five awards in three different national competitions that recognize excellence in communications and content.

Citizens’ Foreign FiX online newsletter won Gold in the Digital Media Apps and Tools category at the recent Financial Communications Society (FCS) Awards. Founded in 1967, FCS is the only national not-for-profit industry association for financial marketers, and counts among its members many of the largest banks, investment firms and insurers — as well as leading publications and agencies. 

In addition, Citizens’ Foreign FiX won Gold at The American Business Awards (Stevie) in the Branded Utility of the Year category, which recognizes products and services created to address a marketing or business challenge. 

The Stevie Awards were created in 2002 to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide. The awards are judged on several criteria: the merits of the claims to innovation, integrity, effectiveness, creativity and growth as well as the quality of the entry’s content itself. More than 3,700 nominations from organizations of all sizes and virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories. 

Citizens’ Foreign FiX also won three separate Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards: Best Bank Online Newsletter, Best Financial Services Online Newsletter and Best of Show Online Newsletter. 

In 1999, the Web Marketing Association created the IAC awards program to recognize outstanding online advertising in all of its various forms. The IAC Awards highlight the best online advertising in 96 industries and nine online formats. Newsletters were judged on creativity, innovation, impact, design, copywriting, use of the medium, and memorability. 

Launched in January 2017, Citizens created the daily Foreign FiX in partnership with EMI Strategic Marketing and subscriptions have soared through high-impact email marketing campaigns, LinkedIn promotion and viral referrals.
