Citizens Leadership Donation to Extend Foundation’s Charitable Support
Citizens Bank believes that its success is tied directly to the strength of the communities it serves. In that spirit and in recognition of the holiday season, members of the Citizens senior leadership team have made personal donations totaling $200,000 to the Citizens Charitable Foundation. This first-ever coordinated gift by Citizens senior leaders will extend efforts by the bank and its employees to fight hunger, provide shelter, strengthen communities and help people manage their money in the areas that Citizens serves.
At a Dec. 14 ceremony in Boston, Citizens Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bruce Van Saun and other senior Citizens leaders were joined by representatives of recent foundation grant recipients Food For Free of Cambridge, MA and Children’s Friend and Service of Providence, R.I.
Citizens supports employee efforts to give back to their communities through a variety of programs that include payroll giving, matching gifts and volunteerism. Citizens colleagues so far this year have contributed nearly 81,000 hours of volunteer time in their communities. More information regarding our community programs can be found here.
