Citizens Bank executive Irene Hannan to receive American Red Cross Lifetime Achievement Award
Honor to be bestowed at 23rd Spectrum Awards
PHILADELPHIA – The American Red Cross will honor Citizens Bank executive Irene Horstmann Hannan with a lifetime achievement award as part of its upcoming 23rd annual Spectrum Awards ceremony. The Spectrum Awards, taking place Nov. 10 in Philadelphia, hosts and honors women leaders who have made important contributions in improving the quality of life in the Philadelphia community. Hannan is a senior vice president in Citizens’ NonProfit & Healthcare Banking Division.
“Irene is so deserving of this award because she truly embraces the values of the Red Cross,” said Judge Renée Cardwell Hughes, CEO of the American Red Cross in Eastern Pennsylvania. “Irene has reached the highest levels of achievement, influence and commitment in the banking industry, yet she still makes time for the community.”
As senior vice president, Hannan manages Citizens’ commercial business with not-for-profit organizations and health care businesses in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions.
A 33-year banking industry veteran, Hannan is extremely active in the community. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of the United States, serving as chair of its CEO search committee. She formerly served on the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Eastern PA. Hannan is also a current member, and past president, of the Forum of Executive Women, the premier membership group for women leaders in the Philadelphia region. She was also a founding member of the American Heart Association Go Red for Women executive committee.
In addition to Hannan, three others will receive awards at the event, which serves as a celebration of achievement in honor of Clara Barton, the Civil War-era visionary who founded the American Red Cross in 1881.
