Citizens Bank Provides $6.8 Million Loan to Harbor Health Services, Inc.
Funds will be used to renovate Brockton building for elder day health center
BOSTON – Citizens Bank announced today that Citizens Commercial Banking’s NonProfit and Healthcare Division is providing a $6.8 million loan to Mattapan-based Harbor Health Services, Inc. for the renovation of a former Brockton synagogue to convert it into an elder day health center.
Harbor Health is a private, nonprofit community health agency that administers five community health centers and a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) program in Massachusetts. The funds will be used to renovate the former Temple Beth Emunah at 479 Torrey St. for a new PACE program in Brockton.
“We’re very pleased to have Citizens Bank as our partner. The Citizens team has been most helpful to us as we arrange financing for this much-needed program,” said Daniel J. Driscoll, President and CEO of Harbor Health Services, Inc. “The PACE program provides health care services and a lively social network during the day, which helps elders maintain their independence and remain in their homes.”
“We are very pleased to support the Harbor Health Services team as they create this PACE center to improve the lives of seniors in the Brockton area,” said Jerry Sargent, Massachusetts President of Citizens Bank. “Citizens is committed to supporting our community so this is a really great project for us.”
