Edwin Negron receives Citizens Bank’s Citizens Helping Citizens Volunteer Award
Annual award renamed to align with Citizens Helping Citizens brand
Buffalo, NY – Citizens Bank announced its annual “Citizens Helping Citizens Volunteer Award” to Edwin Negron, VP, Home Lending Solutions, WNY, for his outstanding commitment to the community. As part of the award, the Citizens Bank Foundation will contribute $2,500 to Negron’s charity of choice. This award was previously known as the Be Inspired Award, and was renamed to better align with Citizens Helping Citizens, the bank’s program that strives to enhance quality of life and economic vitality in local communities.
“It is because of Ed’s inspiring dedication to the community and his tireless efforts to go above and beyond in both his professional and personal endeavors that we proudly award him this honor,” said James P. Gaspo, president of Citizens Bank and RBS Citizens, New York. “Ed embodies Citizens’ spirit of giving, contributing hundreds of hours of community service in 2013 to organizations across Western New York.”
Negron volunteers and serves on the Boards of Directors for multiple organizations in the Buffalo area, including Belmont Housing Resources for WNY and Meals on Wheels for Western New York.
“Each year, Citizens Bank honors a volunteer or a group of volunteers who perform exemplary service to the community with this award,” said Gaspo, “and with a contribution to the nonprofit organization of the recipient’s choice.”
Negron has selected the Response to Love Center in Buffalo to receive the $2,500 donation.
This annual award was created in April 2007 by RBS Citizens Financial Group, Inc. to honor volunteers who perform exemplary service in the communities where Citizens does business. Nominations for the award are made by co-workers or colleagues nominating themselves. One award is given out in each state where Citizens has a presence.
