Citizens Bank amplifies its arts sponsorship role on Cape Cod
Bank to underwrite annual Arts Foundation’s Pops by the Sea concert
BOSTON (April 08, 2013) – Citizens Bank today announced it is expanding its commitment to the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod by serving as the presenting sponsor for this summer’s Pops by the Sea concert in Hyannis, Mass., which is scheduled this year for Sunday, August 11. The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and Citizens Bank have a long-standing partnership with the annual Citizens Bank Summer Concert Series. This expanded sponsorship launches a new phase in its relationship with the Arts Foundation.
“Sponsorship of the Pops by the Sea concert elevates our partnership with the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and exemplifies our long-standing commitment to the Cape, a community where many of our customers and colleagues live and work,” said Jerry Sargent, president of Citizens Bank and RBS Citizens, Massachusetts. “It is our hope that this concert will not only provide Cape Cod with an enjoyable night of fantastic music from the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, but ultimately will benefit the local economy.”
Citizens Bank has a strong presence on Cape Cod as a sponsor of a large and diverse group of organizations including the Family Pantry of Cape Cod, Cape Abilities and Cape & Islands Gay & Straight Alliance. In 2012, the Bank made significant contributions to numerous Massachusetts-based nonprofit organizations through its charitable giving and community sponsorship programs.
“By magnifying its sponsorship role for our organization, Citizens Bank is enabling us to maintain our commitment to sustaining and nurturing the arts and artists on Cape Cod,” said Kevin Howard, executive director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. “Thanks to the generous support of Citizens Bank, we can continue to entertain and culturally enrich the region with programming and events like Pops by the Sea.”
Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea marks the only Cape Cod appearance by the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Keith Lockhart. This year’s program will feature renowned, award-winning actress Blythe Danner as a celebrity guest conductor.
Now in its 28th year, the Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea concert – which takes place at the Hyannis Village Green – attracts an audience of more than 15,000, according to the Arts Foundation.
Many levels of seating are available, with general admission lawn tickets starting at $20.Tickets can be purchased online at www.artsfoundation.org. Proceeds from the concert will enable the Arts Foundation to fulfill its mission to support, promote, and celebrate the arts and culture of Cape Cod, year-round. The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, Barnstable County's regional arts agency, provides artistic, cultural, and educational programs in every town on Cape Cod, with an emphasis on supporting arts education initiatives, individual artists, and cultural organizations throughout the year.
