Boston College High School secures $8 million RBS Citizens loan for Cadigan Hall

Construction on performing arts center is underway

BOSTON (January 3, 2013) – Boston College High School today announced it has received an $8 million loan from RBS Citizens to finance the construction of Cadigan Hall, a new 28,000 square-foot performing arts and student center. The building is scheduled to open in time for the 2013 school year.

Cadigan Hall is named for Patrick F. Cadigan, PhD, a 1952 graduate of BC High who donated $12 million to fund the project. The loan from RBS Citizens will be used as a bridge loan to finance the project as the gift from Mr. Cadigan is received in installments over seven years.

"Cadigan Hall is a very special addition to our campus and we thank RBS Citizens for its continued support and partnership," said Bill Kemeza, president of BC High. "This facility will be utilized by thousands of young men in the years to come, continuing our strong tradition of providing a wide range of opportunities and learning experiences for our students."

"RBS Citizens is proud to continue our relationship with BC High, which has a well-deserved reputation for educational excellence and a 150-year track record of producing business, civic and religious leaders in our community and around the world," said Jerry Sargent, president of RBS Citizens and Citizens Bank, Massachusetts.

The Patrick F. Cadigan PhD ’52 & Family Hall will be the centerpiece of a newly-invigorated BC High. The construction project will transform not only the face of the campus, but the daily lives of students and faculty for generations to come.
