Michael J. Cleary joins RBS Citizens Financial Group as Head of U.S. Distribution for Consumer Banking
PROVIDENCE, R.I.(October 17, 2012)- RBS Citizens Financial Group, Inc. announced today that Michael J. Cleary has been named Group Executive Vice President and Head of U.S. Distribution for Consumer Banking. Cleary joins RBSCFG with more than 30 years of senior management experience
Cleary is responsible for Retail Branches, Business Banking, Wealth Management, Online & Mobile Banking, Customer Contact Center, ATM and Distribution Planning and Distribution Support. He will serve as a member of the RBSCFG Executive Committee and the Executive Leadership Group. Cleary reports to Brad L. Conner, RBSCFG Vice Chairman for Consumer Banking.

Most recently, Cleary spent the past 13 years with JPMorgan Chase & Co. in diverse leadership roles including membership on the JPMorgan Executive Committee, CEO of Business Banking, Chief Marketing Officer for Retail Banking, Chief Operating Officer for Retail Banking, Head of Chase Private Client and President of wingspanbank.com. His accomplishments include obtaining a designation of #1 SBA Lender for all of JPMorgan, launching a mass affluent offering, forming the Consumer Internet Group, leading the rebranding of Washington Mutual and the associated technology conversion for all JPMorgan, and several bank mergers. He helped grow both Business and Consumer Banking when he managed the advertising, debit and deposit product strategies, portfolio pricing, customer cross-sell and profitability, ATM network, internet and mobile banking, branch planning and marketing analytics.
A native of Massachusetts, Cleary received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Princeton University and earned his Masters of Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College.
